The Lovin' Spoonful was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1965. The band's original lineup consisted of John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, Steve Boone, and Joe Butler. They were known for their catchy pop-rock sound that incorporated elements of folk and blues music.


The Lovin' Spoonful achieved commercial success with hits such as "Do You Believe in Magic," "Summer in the City," and "Daydream." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and are considered one of the most successful and influential bands of the 1960s. The group disbanded in 1969, but their music continues to be celebrated for its timeless appeal and contributions to the folk-rock genre.
