The Ly-Dells were an American doo-wop group formed in Chicago in the late 1950s. The group consisted of four members: Mike Martinez, William Dixon, Roy Dawson, and Johnny Funches. They are best known for their hit song "Wizard of Love," which was released in 1958 and became a popular doo-wop classic.
The Ly-Dells were signed to the Mar-V-Lus record label and released several singles throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. Although they never achieved mainstream success, they are remembered for their smooth harmonies and classic doo-wop sound. The Ly-Dells' music continues to be enjoyed by doo-wop enthusiasts and fans of 1950s and 1960s music.
