The Main Ingredient was an American soul and R&B group formed in Harlem, New York City in 1964. The original members were lead singer Donald McPherson, Luther Simmons Jr., and Tony Silvester. The group's biggest hits include "Everybody Plays the Fool" and "Just Don't Want to Be Lonely." They were known for their smooth harmonies and catchy melodies, which helped them achieve success in the 1970s.
