Artist Bio:
The Manhattans are an American R&B vocal group formed in 1962 in Jersey City, New Jersey. The group's original members were George "Smitty" Smith, Edward "Sonny" Bivins, Winfred "Blue" Lovett, Kenny "Wally" Kelley, and Richard "Ricky" Taylor. Their music is characterized by smooth harmonies and soulful ballads, which helped define the "sweet soul" sound of the 1970s.

The Manhattans achieved mainstream success in the 1970s and 1980s with hits such as "Kiss and Say Goodbye," "Shining Star," and "Just One Moment Away." They received a Grammy Award for their hit single "Shining Star" in 1980. The group continued to record and perform throughout the years, although with different lineups due to member changes and departures. The Manhattans have left a lasting legacy in the R&B genre with their timeless love songs and enduring popularity.
