The Marshall Tucker Band is an American rock band formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1972. The band is named after a blind piano tuner, Toy Caldwell, who lived in the same Spartanburg area. The original lineup consisted of Toy Caldwell on guitar and vocals, Doug Gray on vocals, Tommy Caldwell on bass, George McCorkle on guitar, Jerry Eubanks on flute, saxophone, and keyboards, and Paul Riddle on drums. The band's music is a blend of rock, country, and jazz, with a distinctive Southern rock sound.


The Marshall Tucker Band gained popularity in the 1970s with hits such as "Can't You See" and "Heard It in a Love Song." They are known for their energetic live performances and have released over 20 studio albums throughout their career. The band continues to tour and perform, with Doug Gray being the only original member still in the lineup.
