Artist Bio:
The Marvelettes were an American girl group that achieved popularity in the early 1960s. They were formed in Inkster, Michigan, and signed with Motown's Tamla label in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of Gladys Horton, Katherine Anderson, Georgeanna Tillman, Juanita Cowart, and Georgia Dobbins.

The Marvelettes are best known for their hit songs, including "Please Mr. Postman," which became their first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. They were also known for their harmonious vocals and their contributions to the Motown sound. The group continued to release music throughout the 1960s, but experienced several lineup changes. The Marvelettes were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 to honor their contributions to the music industry.
