The McCoys were a rock group formed in Union City, Indiana in the early 1960s. The band consisted of members Rick Derringer, Randy Hobbs, Randy Zehringer, and Ronnie Brandon. They gained fame with their hit single "Hang On Sloopy" in 1965, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a rock and roll anthem and is considered a classic of the genre.
Following the success of "Hang On Sloopy," The McCoys released several other singles and albums, including "Fever" and "You Make Me Feel So Good." The band's music was characterized by their energetic and catchy rock sound, incorporating elements of garage rock and pop. The McCoys disbanded in the late 1960s, with members pursuing various solo projects and collaborations in the music industry.
