Artist Bio:
The McCoys were a rock band formed in Union City, Indiana in the early 1960s. The group was best known for their hit single "Hang on Sloopy," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. The McCoys' sound was characterized by their energetic and raw rock and roll style, with a mix of garage rock and pop influences.

The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Rick Derringer, bassist Randy Jo Hobbs, keyboardist Ronnie Brandon, and drummer Randy Zehringer. The McCoys released several albums throughout the 1960s, but they were never able to replicate the success of "Hang on Sloopy." Despite this, the band's hit single remains a classic rock staple and continues to be celebrated for its catchy melody and energetic performance.
