The Merry-Go-Round was a 1960s American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The group was led by singer-songwriter Emitt Rhodes and included members Gary Kato, Bill Rinehart, and Joel Larson. They are best known for their hit single "Live," which reached number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 1967, which featured a mix of folk-rock and psychedelic pop sounds. Despite receiving critical acclaim, The Merry-Go-Round did not achieve commercial success and disbanded in 1969. Emitt Rhodes went on to have a successful solo career, while the other members pursued different musical endeavors. The Merry-Go-Round's music has since gained a cult following among fans of 1960s rock music.
