Artist Bio:
The Mindbenders were a British beat group formed in Manchester in 1963. The band initially started as a side-project for Wayne Fontana, the lead singer of Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders, but eventually became a separate entity after Fontana's departure. The original lineup of the Mindbenders consisted of Eric Stewart on guitar and vocals, Bob Lang on bass, and Ric Rothwell on drums.
The Mindbenders achieved commercial success in the mid-1960s with hits like "A Groovy Kind of Love" and "Game of Love," which both reached the top 5 in the UK and US charts. The band's sound was characterized by infectious melodies and tight harmonies, contributing to their popularity during the British Invasion. The Mindbenders disbanded in 1968, with Eric Stewart going on to join the successful band 10cc.
