The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1955. They are best known for their association with Motown Records and their lead singer, Smokey Robinson. The original lineup consisted of Smokey Robinson, Bobby Rogers, Ronald White, Warren "Pete" Moore, and Claudette Robinson.
The Miracles were one of Motown's first and most important acts, scoring numerous hit songs including "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." They also served as Smokey Robinson's backing band before becoming stars in their own right. The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, honoring their contributions to the music industry.
