The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group that was formed in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. The group originally consisted of founding members Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, Ronnie White, Clarence Dawson, and James Grice. Smokey Robinson served as the lead singer and primary songwriter for the group, known for his smooth tenor voice and heartfelt lyrics.


The Miracles achieved major success in the 1960s with hits like "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." They were one of the first acts signed to Motown Records and played a crucial role in the label's early development. The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, recognizing their influence on the music industry and their contributions to the Motown sound.
