The Miracles, originally known as The Five Chimes, were a prominent American rhythm and blues vocal group who formed in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. The group achieved major success in the 1960s under the leadership of their lead singer Smokey Robinson. Known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, The Miracles were one of the first acts to sign with Motown Records. Their hits include "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
