Artist Bio:
The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group that achieved great success in the 1960s. The group was formed in 1955 by Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, Ronnie White, Clarence Dawson, and James Grice. However, Clarence Dawson and James Grice left the group shortly after its formation, and were replaced by Bobby Rogers and Claudette Rogers.
The Miracles were the first successful recording act for Berry Gordy's Motown Records, and they were known for their smooth harmonies and Robinson's distinctive lead vocals. Some of their most popular hits include "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Smokey Robinson was the primary songwriter for the group and also served as their lead singer until he left the group in 1972 to pursue a solo career.
