The Mixtures were an Australian pop music group formed in Melbourne in 1965. The band's original lineup consisted of Laurie Arthur on guitar, Brian Avery on bass, and Rod De Clerk on drums. They were later joined by lead vocalist and guitarist, Malcolm McGee. The Mixtures gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s with their catchy pop songs and energetic live performances.
One of their biggest hits was a cover of "The Pushbike Song" in 1970, which reached number one on the Australian charts and also achieved success internationally. The Mixtures continued to release music throughout the 1970s before disbanding in the early 1980s. They left a lasting impact on the Australian music scene and are remembered as one of the iconic pop bands of their era.
