The Moments were an American R&B vocal group formed in the late 1960s in Washington, D.C. The original members were Mark Greene, Eric Olfus, Billy Brown, and Richard Gross. They later added Al Goodman and Johnny Moore to the group. The Moments gained popularity in the early 1970s with hits like "Love on a Two-Way Street" and "Sexy Mama." Their music was characterized by smooth harmonies and soulful melodies that captured the essence of the era's R&B sound.
In 1979, the group changed their name to Ray, Goodman & Brown due to a legal dispute over their original name. Despite the name change, they continued to produce music and tour, maintaining a loyal fan base. The Moments/Ray, Goodman & Brown's music has had a lasting impact on the R&B genre and they are considered pioneers of the soul music movement of the 1970s.
