Artist Bio

Artist Bio:
The Monitors were an American vocal group formed in 1964 in Detroit, Michigan. The group originally consisted of Richard Street, Warren Harris, and Sandra Fagin. They were signed to Motown Records, where they released their debut album "Greetings! We're The Monitors" in 1968. The album featured their hit single "Greetings (This Is Uncle Sam)", which reached the Top 100 on the Billboard charts.

The Monitors are best known for their politically conscious and socially relevant songs, often addressing issues of the time such as the Vietnam War and civil rights. They continued to release music throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, but never achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their labelmates. Despite this, The Monitors are still remembered for their unique sound and the important messages conveyed in their music.
