Artist Bio:
The Monkees were an American rock and pop band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. The group was created for a television show of the same name, which aired from 1966 to 1968. The members of the band included Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork. The Monkees achieved widespread success with their music, TV show, and concert tours during the late 1960s.
The band's hits included songs like "I'm a Believer," "Daydream Believer," and "Last Train to Clarksville." While initially marketed as a manufactured band, The Monkees eventually gained creative control over their music and produced their own songs. The Monkees disbanded in 1971 but reunited for various tours and albums over the years. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
