Artist Bio:
The Monkees were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. The group was comprised of members Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. They were brought together for a television show of the same name, which followed the fictional adventures of a struggling rock band trying to make it big. The show was a hit, and the band quickly gained popularity, earning a large following of fans known as "Monkees Maniacs."

The Monkees released a number of successful albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1966, which featured hits such as "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer." The band's music was known for its catchy melodies and upbeat, pop-rock sound. Despite initially being criticized for not playing their own instruments on their early recordings, The Monkees eventually gained respect for their musical talents and went on to have a successful career in both music and television.
