Artist Bio:
The Monkees were an American rock and pop band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. The group was created as a television show about a fictional rock band, but the members eventually became a real musical group. The original lineup consisted of Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork.
The Monkees achieved great success in the mid-1960s with hits like "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer," and "Daydream Believer." They released a total of nine studio albums between 1966 and 1970. Despite initially facing criticism for not playing their own instruments on their early recordings, The Monkees went on to become one of the most popular bands of the era. They were known for their catchy songs, comedic television show, and energetic performances.
