Artist Bio:
The Monkees were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. The group was created for a television show of the same name, which aired from 1966 to 1968. The band members were Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork. Despite criticism for not playing their own instruments on their early recordings, The Monkees achieved commercial success with hits like "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer," and "Daydream Believer."

The Monkees won two Emmy Awards in 1967 and have sold over 75 million records worldwide. They disbanded in 1971 but reunited several times for tours and recordings. The group's music and television show have left a lasting impact on pop culture, influencing future generations of musicians and television shows.
