The Moody Blues are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964. The band's original lineup consisted of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. They are known for their fusion of rock with classical music and symphonic sounds, pioneering a subgenre known as progressive rock.
The Moody Blues achieved commercial success with their 1967 album "Days of Future Passed," which featured their hit single "Nights in White Satin." Throughout their career, they released numerous albums that combined rock and orchestral elements, such as "In Search of the Lost Chord" and "Seventh Sojourn." The Moody Blues were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, recognizing their influence on the development of progressive rock music.
