The Moody Blues are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964. The original lineup consisted of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. Over the years, there were several lineup changes, with the most successful lineup featuring Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Edge, who helped the band achieve international success.

The Moody Blues are known for their fusion of rock and classical music, as well as their use of symphonic and progressive elements in their songs. They are best known for their album "Days of Future Passed," which includes the hit singles "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon." The band has sold over 70 million records worldwide and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
