Artist Bio:
The Motels are an American new wave band formed in 1971 in Berkeley, California. The band was originally fronted by lead singer Martha Davis, who remains the only consistent member throughout the band's various line-up changes. The Motels achieved commercial success in the early 1980s with hits such as "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer".

The Motels released six studio albums between 1979 and 1985, with their self-titled debut album being the most successful, reaching number 45 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's music is characterized by a blend of new wave, pop, and rock elements, with Davis' distinctive vocals being a key feature of their sound. Despite several break-ups and reunions over the years, The Motels continue to tour and perform, with Martha Davis as the driving force behind the band's enduring legacy in the new wave music scene.
