Artist Bio:
The Newbeats were an American pop group formed in the early 1960s. The group consisted of brothers Dean Mathis and Mark Mathis, along with Larry Henley. They are best known for their hit single "Bread and Butter," which was released in 1964 and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was their biggest success and became a pop music classic.
The Newbeats continued to release music throughout the 1960s, but they were unable to replicate the success of "Bread and Butter." Despite this, they remained a popular live act and continued to perform well into the 2000s. The Newbeats' music is often associated with the "British Invasion" sound of the 1960s, characterized by catchy melodies and upbeat rhythms.
