Artist Bio:
The Newcomers were an American soul and R&B group formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 1960s. The group was originally composed of brothers Leonard and Eddie Thomas, as well as Charles Bingham, and their cousin, Thomas Bailey. They were discovered by Stax Records and released their debut album, "The Newcomers," in 1969. The album included their hit single "Mannish Boy," which reached the top 30 on the Billboard R&B chart.
The Newcomers continued to release music throughout the early 1970s, including the albums "Sweet Soul" and "Pin the Tail on the Donkey." However, they never achieved the same level of success as their earlier releases. Despite this, The Newcomers are remembered for their contributions to the soul and R&B music scene of the era.
