The O'Jays are an American R&B group that was formed in Canton, Ohio in 1958. The original members were Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, William Powell, Bobby Massey, and Bill Isles. The group's name was derived from the name of their manager, Eddie O'Jay. The O'Jays achieved mainstream success in the 1970s with hits such as "Back Stabbers," "Love Train," and "For the Love of Money."
Known for their smooth harmonies and socially conscious lyrics, The O'Jays were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. Over the course of their career, the group has released numerous albums and singles, earning several Grammy nominations and other accolades. The O'Jays continue to perform and tour, entertaining audiences with their soulful music and dynamic stage presence.
