The Olympics were an American R&B group formed in 1957 in Los Angeles, California. The group originally consisted of Walter Ward, Eddie Lewis, Charles Fizer, and Walter Hammond. They were known for their tight vocal harmonies and energetic live performances. The Olympics achieved their biggest success in the early 1960s with hits like "Western Movies" and "Big Boy Pete".


Their music was a blend of doo-wop, R&B, and rock and roll, and they were influential in the development of the soul music genre. The Olympics continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, although with varying lineups. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. The Olympics' music has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, making them enduring figures in the history of American popular music.
