The Original Caste was a Canadian pop band formed in 1966 in Calgary, Alberta. The band was known for their hit single "One Tin Soldier" which was released in 1969. The song reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States and No. 34 in the UK Singles Chart.
The Original Caste consisted of members Bruce Innes, Graham Bruce, Bliss Mackie, and Joe Cavender. They released several albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, with "One Tin Soldier" being their most successful and well-known song. The band eventually disbanded in the mid-1970s but left a lasting impact with their popular anti-war anthem.
