Artist Bio:
The Originals were an American R&B group formed in the 1960s. The group consisted of Freddie Gorman, Walter Gaines, C.P. Spencer, Hank Dixon, and Joe Stubbs. They were signed to Soul Records, a subsidiary of Motown, and released several singles throughout the 1960s and 1970s. One of their most notable songs is "Baby, I'm for Real," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969.
The Originals are known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound that became a trademark of their music. They continued to release music and perform throughout the 1970s, but never achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their Motown labelmates. Despite this, they are still remembered as influential figures in the R&B music scene of the era.
