Artist Bio:
The Originals were an American vocal group formed in 1966 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consisted of Freddie Gorman, Walter Gaines, C.P. Spencer, Hank Dixon, and Ty Hunter. They were best known for their soulful harmonies and their hit single "Baby, I'm for Real," which was released in 1969 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also topped the Billboard R&B chart.

The Originals were signed to Motown Records and served as backing vocalists for many of the label's artists, including Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. They released several albums and singles throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as some of their labelmates, The Originals were highly respected for their vocal abilities and contributions to the Motown sound.
