The Orlons were an American R&B group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. The original members were Rosetta Hightower, Shirley Brickley, Marlena Davis, and Stephen Caldwell. They are best known for their hits in the early 1960s, including "The Wah-Watusi" and "Don't Hang Up." The group's sound was characterized by their harmonies and catchy dance tunes, which helped them achieve success on the pop and R&B charts.
The Orlons were signed to Cameo-Parkway Records, where they worked closely with producers and songwriters Kal Mann and Dave Appell. Their music often featured a combination of doo-wop, pop, and R&B influences. The group's energetic performances and infectious songs earned them a dedicated fan base and a lasting legacy in the music industry.
