The Ovations were an American soul vocal group formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1960s. The group was originally composed of Louis Williams, Elvin Lee Jones, and Richard Davis. Louis Williams was the lead singer of the group and was known for his smooth and emotive vocals. The group gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s with hits such as "It's Wonderful to Be in Love" and "Touching Me".


In 1973, Louis Williams left the group to pursue a solo career but continued to perform with The Ovations on occasion. The Ovations (Featuring Louis Williams) continued to perform and record music, with Williams as the lead vocalist. Their music was known for its soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, earning them a dedicated fan base in the soul music community.
