The Passions were a British post-punk band formed in 1978. They were known for their melodic and atmospheric sound, blending elements of post-punk, new wave, and synth-pop. The band's lineup consisted of lead vocalist Barbara Gogan, guitarists Clive Timperley and Richard Williams, bassist Mitch Barker, and drummer Kevin Armstrong.
The Passions released three albums between 1980 and 1982, including their most successful album "Thirty Thousand Feet Over China" in 1981, which featured the hit single "I'm in Love with a German Film Star". The band disbanded in 1983 after facing distribution and label issues. Despite their relatively short career, The Passions left a lasting impact on the post-punk and new wave music scenes, with their music continuing to be celebrated by fans and critics alike.
