The Persuaders were an American R&B vocal group formed in the early 1970s. The group consisted of five members: Douglas "Smokey" Scott, Willie Holland, J.J. Williams, Douglas "Smokey" Scott, and Charles Stodghill. They were best known for their hit single "Thin Line Between Love and Hate," which was released in 1971 and reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart and number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a classic and is considered one of the group's signature tracks.
