Artist Bio:
The Persuaders were an American soul vocal group formed in the early 1970s. The group consisted of Douglas "Smokey" Scott, Willie Holland, J.R. Bailey, and Charles Stodghill. They are best known for their hit single "Thin Line Between Love and Hate," which was released in 1971 and reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart and number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was also their biggest hit in the UK, reaching number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.
The Persuaders released three albums during their career: "The Persuaders" (1973), "Thin Line Between Love and Hate" (1974), and "It's All About Love" (1976). While they never achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, The Persuaders are still remembered for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound. They have left a lasting impact on the soul and R&B music scene of the 1970s.
