Artist Bio:
The Platters were an American vocal group formed in 1952. They were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. The original members were Tony Williams, David Lynch, Alex Hodge, Herb Reed, and Zola Taylor. Their distinctive sound blended R&B, pop, and doo-wop styles. The group's lineup changed over the years, but they continued to produce hits throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

Their biggest hits include "Only You (And You Alone)", "The Great Pretender", and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes". The Platters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and were also inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads have made them enduring favorites in the world of pop music.
