Artist Bio:
The Platters were an American vocal group formed in 1952 in Los Angeles, California. They were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. The original members were Tony Williams, David Lynch, Alex Hodge, Herb Reed, and Zola Taylor. Their distinctive sound combined traditional pop, doo-wop, and R&B, creating a unique and soulful style that set them apart from other groups of the time.

The Platters are best known for their hits such as "Only You," "The Great Pretender," and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998. Despite several lineup changes over the years, The Platters' music continues to be cherished by fans around the world for its timeless appeal and smooth harmonies.
