Artist Bio:
The Platters were an American vocal group formed in 1952 in Los Angeles, California. They were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era, known for their smooth and soulful harmonies. The original members were Tony Williams, David Lynch, Paul Robi, Alex Hodge, and Herb Reed. Over the years, the lineup changed, but The Platters continued to produce hit songs and tour extensively.

The Platters are best known for their timeless classics such as "Only You," "The Great Pretender," and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998. Despite various legal battles over the group's name and lineup, The Platters' music continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by audiences worldwide.
