Artist Bio:
The Playmates were a vocal group formed in 1958 consisting of Donny Conn (lead singer and guitarist), Morey Carr (harmony and bass), and Chic Hetti (drums). They are best known for their hit single "Beep Beep," released in 1958, which reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song featured humorous lyrics about a car race between a Cadillac and a Nash Rambler.
The Playmates released several albums and singles throughout the 1960s, but none achieved the same level of success as "Beep Beep." The group continued to perform and make appearances on television and in live shows before eventually disbanding in the late 1960s. Despite their relatively short-lived success, The Playmates left a lasting impact on the music industry with their catchy tunes and playful lyrics.
