The Poppy Family was a Canadian psychedelic pop group formed in 1967 by Terry Jacks and his wife Susan Jacks. The duo released their debut album "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" in 1969, which featured the hit single of the same name that reached number one on the Canadian charts and number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. The success of the album led to the group being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1970.
The Poppy Family continued to release music throughout the early 1970s, including the albums "Poppy Seeds" and "A Good Thing Lost." Despite their initial success, the group disbanded in 1973. Terry Jacks went on to have a successful solo career, including his hit song "Seasons in the Sun," while Susan Jacks pursued a solo career as well. The Poppy Family's music is characterized by its lush harmonies, catchy melodies, and psychedelic influences, making them a notable and influential band in the Canadian music scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
