The Ritchie Family was a popular American vocal group that achieved success in the 1970s. The group was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was known for their signature disco sound that blended elements of soul, funk, and pop music. The original lineup consisted of Cassandra Ann Wooten, Gwendolyn Oliver, and Cheryl Mason Jacks. They released their debut album, "Brazil," in 1975, which featured the hit single "The Best Disco in Town."
In 1978, The Ritchie Family achieved their biggest success with the release of the album "Life is Music," which included the hit singles "The Best Disco in the Town" and "American Generation." The group continued to release music throughout the 1980s before disbanding. Despite various lineup changes over the years, The Ritchie Family remains a notable group in the history of disco music.
