Artist Bio:
The Rivieras were an American rock band from South Bend, Indiana, formed in 1962. They are best known for their hit single "California Sun," which was released in 1964 and peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a classic of the surf rock genre.
The Rivieras' lineup consisted of Marty Fortson, Joe Pennell, Doug Gean, Otto Nuss, and Paul Dennert. While they never achieved the same level of success with their other singles, "California Sun" remains their most recognizable and enduring song. The band disbanded in the late 1960s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of 1960s rock and roll.
