The Rivingtons were an American doo-wop and R&B group formed in Los Angeles in the late 1950s. The group's original members were lead vocalist Al Frazier, tenor vocalist Carl White, baritone vocalist Sonny Harris, and bass vocalist Turner "Rocky" Wilson Jr. They are best known for their hit song "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" released in 1962, which reached number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group is also recognized for their song "The Bird's the Word" released in 1963, which became a popular dance craze and was later covered by other artists.
