The Ronettes were an American girl group formed in 1957 in New York City. The group consisted of lead singer Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett (later known as Ronnie Spector), her sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. The Ronettes were known for their distinctive sound, characterized by their tight harmonies and Ronnie's powerful lead vocals.
The group rose to fame in the early 1960s with hits like "Be My Baby" and "Baby, I Love You," produced by Phil Spector. They were known for their glamorous image, with their beehive hairstyles and matching outfits. The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Despite their success, the group disbanded in 1967, and Ronnie Spector went on to have a successful solo career.
