Artist Bio:
The Royaltones were an American instrumental rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1957. The group consisted of George Katsakis on lead guitar, Mike Gurciullo on rhythm guitar, Curt Kress on saxophone, and Mark Kellner on drums. They were known for their energetic live performances and their ability to blend rock and roll, R&B, and surf music into their sound.

The Royaltones achieved moderate success in the late 1950s and early 1960s with their instrumental singles, including "Poor Boy" and "Flamingo Express." Their biggest hit came in 1958 with the song "Flamingo Express," which reached #52 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s, but eventually disbanded in the early 1970s. Despite their relatively short-lived career, The Royaltones left a lasting impact on the instrumental rock genre with their unique sound and high-energy performances.
