The Searchers were a British rock band formed in 1962 in Liverpool. They were part of the Merseybeat movement along with bands like The Beatles and The Hollies. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mike Pender, lead guitarist John McNally, bassist Tony Jackson, and drummer Chris Curtis.
The Searchers are best known for their hits in the 1960s such as "Needles and Pins" and "Love Potion No. 9". They were known for their catchy melodies, close harmonies, and jangly guitar sound. The band achieved commercial success both in the UK and the US during the British Invasion. The Searchers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, the band continued to tour and perform their classic hits to their loyal fan base.
