Artist Bio:
The Shamen were a British electronic dance music group formed in 1985. The original members were Colin Angus, Derek McKenzie, Keith McKenzie, and Peter Stephenson. The group gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their unique blend of acid house, techno, and psychedelic rock.
Their most famous hit was the track "Ebeneezer Goode," released in 1992, which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song faced controversy due to its perceived references to drug use, leading to the BBC banning it from airplay. The Shamen continued to release music throughout the 1990s before disbanding in 1999. Their eclectic sound and pioneering use of sampling and electronic music production techniques solidified their place in the history of dance music.
