Artist Bio:
The Shangri-Las were an American girl group formed in Queens, New York in 1963. The group consisted of two sets of sisters: Mary Weiss and Betty Weiss, and twins Marge Ganser and Mary Ann Ganser. They were known for their dramatic and rebellious image, as well as their distinctive songs that often featured themes of teenage angst, heartbreak, and defiance.


The Shangri-Las rose to fame in the mid-1960s with hits such as "Leader of the Pack" and "Remember (Walking in the Sand)". They were one of the pioneering acts of the girl group era and helped pave the way for future female artists in the rock and pop music industry. Despite their relatively short career, The Shangri-Las left a lasting impact on music and are still celebrated for their unique sound and style.
