The Shirelles are credited with being one of the first and most successful girl groups of the Motown era. They had a string of hits in the early 1960s, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," which became their first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Shirelles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, recognizing their influence on the development of rhythm and blues and pop music.
